i still can’t believe i lost my gopro. i drop it in the ocean all the time and usually find it. but this river mouth was different as the current from the waves were going one way, and the current from the river the opposite way.
closed my eyes and thought where i’d go if i were my gopro. then opened my eyes and searched that area. so when i couldn’t find it, i was bummed. but at the same time, the ocean has its own mind and understand very well that nobody can predict it.
found a shell along the way which made me a little happy.
Naoka and Kesuke also helped me look for it but no luck. i even climbed and crawled under these huge tetrapods. and while i was under there, i thought what would happen if one fell on me? it was pretty claustrophobic under there. anyway, hopefully my gopro flows to some other country and i’ll get a lucky phone call within the next 10 years.
another unlucky guy was Kimura-san surfing that same day. he texted me that he got hit by a fin on somebody else’s board.
and look at it a few days later!!! OMG! i’ve never seen a black and blue so dark and big like that!!! OMG!!! lucky he’s a very strong man.
i had to buy another gopro today because i need it for work. i decided to buy a used one because it’s way cheaper and less the pain when i lose it again. and i say “when” because shit happens. i found this one for half the price and it was still brand new.
and the guy i bought it from gave me all his accessories that cost more than the camera. i scored!
i even found a secret compartment that had a floaty headband. wow! now i can take some deeper barrel shots and hopefully not lose this camera. i’m pretty happy with my new purchase…
