Earthquakes everyday!

when i was up in tohoku, there must have been 7 or 8 earthquakes. one big one at kimura-san’s house, which was pretty long. then a few here and there. we were sitting outside of our tents on top a mountain eating cup noodles when i heard a loud rumbling sound. it got louder and louder and then the ground started shaking. the whole mountain started shaking and it was kind of freaky. it was the first time i experienced an earthquake with sound. 10 minutes later, another one came. i thought it was pretty cool. it might sound crazy but i think i’m starting to like earthquakes.

a few inexpensive toys and containers can make a lot of kids happy. we visited this little evacuation center in ishinomaki. such cute kids!

this is a japanese peace sign. we are one!

at the matsuri in sendai, some people were selling things. an artist had a great idea to make things out of the debris. this is going onto the wall in my house in hawaii and will be used for ever. what a smart idea!
i had another awesome experience in tohoku. happy, sad, and everything in between.
