today was another very happy day for me. just by the smiles in everyones faces, that’s the ultimate reward. imagine seeing these kind of happy faces every single day? it’s totally amazing! 10 year old Koyuki-chan on her first wave of her life, and enjoying every moment.
this was her smile from the time we left the beach until the time we got back. smiling and screaming and enjoying the beautiful ocean experience.
then it was time to go bigger so we went outside and caught a pretty big wave.
i try to tell everyone i teach surfing to keep calm, smile, and enjoy the ride. this is exactly how you do it. the bigger the wave, the bigger the smile. good job Koyuki-chan!
i’m sure i’ll see this little girls smile again.

the magic ocean provides the magic smile. as i downloaded the photos when i got home, i could feel the sense of total satisfaction.

then it was Dad’s turn. super cool guy that loves to make his daughter happy. surfing perfectly with the very long rides.
and when you complete a wonderful ride, you can’t help but have the wonderful smile.

then we had a wonderful lunch, fun talk, lots of laughs, and a very wonderful day. thank you to the Yakuwa-san family for sharing your smiles!
i’m going to use Koyuki-chan as an example for all you kids and parents out there. surfing will bring out the best in your child. surfing will open their young minds. it’s healthy, it’s exciting, it’s peaceful, and it’s better than any Disneyland ride. i’ve taken hundreds of kids surfing for the first time and the end result is always the same. the golden smile just like this.
