Japanese Noodles, Taiwan Popsicles, and Molokai Deer Meat

when Hashimoto-san came to Hawaii yesterday, he wanted to show me how much he’s been practicing in Japan for the past year. he felt super confident, so energized, and ready to attack the waves. what he didn’t know is the waves were freaking huge and just getting out would be a challenge.

straight off the airplane, then eating a Teddy’s Hamburger, then into the huge surf. after dodging 50 or so waves, i told him “Welcome to Hawaii!” haha.

Hashimoto-san managed to make it out a couple times. that in itself is a huge success. and when i saw him catch this first wave, i was so stoked to see him feeling so good! then right after this, bigger and bigger waves came and it was like Boot Camp Training. haha.

great job Hashimoto-san! the part i love about the ocean is right when you think you have it figured out, she kicks you right in the ass. haha. it happens to me all the time so don’t worry. see you tomorrow afternoon for another challenging day.

and thank your for the treats! so happy!

it’s so cool how this guy in Taiwan made popsicles to show how dirty the water is. he took samples from rivers and lakes around Taipei and froze the water and turned it into popsicles.

no, you can’t eat it. but this is a great idea to show how dirty the water is and how we should all make an effort to keep it clean. i wonder how the Ala Wai Canal would look like???

my cousin gave me a bag of deer meat from Molokai. i had it in my freezer and thought it was time to eat it. first, it was deer hamburgers!

omg, it was the best! super lean and super tasty!

then had some stir fry deer with vegetables. it was amazing! now i have to go hunt for my own deer, cut it up, pack it up, and bring it home. i will substitute my beef for deer in the future. a cheaper and healthier lifestyle i’m really looking forward to…
