i left my house this morning thinking it was going to be an average day in the ocean. but that was my mistake because you just never know what the heck will happen when you’re in the wild! and yeah, Waikiki was wild!
Brittney never speared a fish before so i was more than happy to teach her how to hunt responsibility. lot’s of first timers go out and try to kill everything that moves, but that’s not my style. you just hunt and take what you’re going to eat, nothing more.
and when you spear your first fish, it’s the first step to self survival. just like surfing, you can’t hide your happy emotions. if you can smile like this underwear, you are pretty dam calm.
from hunting, to cleaning, to cooking. you have to be able to do it all.
Maki-san is getting so much better. looking a lot more comfortable so the fish aren’t running away from her anymore. haha.
water was kind of dirty today but we managed to get what we needed. this Kole is the best fried fish ever!
i was pretty lucky myself to find a few good fish swimming around.
and you couldn’t ask for a better set of fresh fish for sashimi. after this, i was super happy.
the conditions couldn’t have been any better. super calm and super perfect day for free dive training. this is a free divers heaven!
cleaned some fish, ate some lunch, then was ready to just look out into the deep blue water. i only had my small reef gun so wasn’t expecting anything crazy. but you know the ocean is never predictable right?
had the most excitement i had in 5 minutes in a while. heart beating, screams, deep blue, and success. omg, it was crazy! thank goodness i made it back to the surface. want to thank my dive buddies for the wonderful day of excitement. it was surely a team effort. can it get any better than this? oh, maybe yeah?
