picked up Mai-chan and headed out for a beautiful golden morning. she short boarded first into some amazing waves.
yes, this is a wonderful time of the day. that’s why i always wake up before the sun rises.
Mai-chan on the short board riding some super fun waves. look how steep this wave is!
Mai-chan told me yesterday that she wanted to short board, long board, and do everything. sounds like me yeah? haha. so now it was longboard time. looked too easy for her.
this was the main purpose for the longboard today. first time head stand and it couldn’t have been done any better than this.
good surfing equals good smiles.
this is the photo i was trying for all morning. a perfect yoga headstand with the sun rising behind beautiful Diamond Head. all i could say after this was “NAMASTE!”
excellent job Mai-chan! want to wish you a very Happy Birthday! it’s amazing how much you grew in these past 3 years. surf, yoga, and smile. awesome life girl!
as soon i was talking about how small this world is, i see Tetsu-san paddling out when i was paddling in. OMG! a true Wakayama Legend…
when i first met Mai-chan, she couldn’t surf, she couldn’t do yoga, and she couldn’t speak English. now, she can do everything! that shows what determination can do. never give up and the sky is the limit!
