last time Asayama-san came to Hawaii, i saw his progression and told him that next time he comes, we will try different spots. i had no idea that we’d take it this far. haha. day 5 was Tracks on the West side. walking with confidence is the key to a great surf session ahead.
Onosei-san taught Asayama-san that your first wave is very important so make sure it’s a good one. good teacher, good student, and the best advice ever! thank you Onosei-san for making Asayama-san’s life so much better!
and once you have the thrill of riding a great first wave, the others to follow will be that much better!
this is absolutely perfect surfing style. and to think a 68 year old man is surfing Hawaii’s North and West shores is hard to believe. total inspiration for all surfers wanting to live their lives to the fullest.
another day, another wave. i’m not sure how we are going to top these last 5 days. that’s going to be a difficult one…
