Respect @ Sea

i passed by Diamond Head yesterday afternoon and it looked gorgeous! nice waves with whales breaching in the background. amazing…

Komine-san and Kayama-san at Diamond Head Grill for lunch.

the best locomoco’s on the island!

and a super good market too.

if i stop here, i always buy the pumpkin crunch pie. it’s the best ever!

they are proposing to redo the whole Ala Moana Park. here’s what it looks like now.

here’s what it would look like after. only one thing they forgot to add in? yes, the homeless. greener grass means more comfortability.

every time i go on an overnighter on Mayuki, i’m always on alert. waking up 10x at night looking to see if the boat shifted, waking up to every bump, noise, or movement. it could be so peaceful at one moment, and like a total typhoon the next. the ocean has its own mind and we just have to flow and adjust to it. many people disappear in Hawaiian waters so i totally respect it to the fullest.

speaking of the unpredictable ocean, the CEO of Quiksilver went out fishing alone, then his boat washed up ashore a few hours later. no sight of him yet as they are still searching. as i boat owner, this kind of news hits me hard. i hope this story has a good ending. my heart goes out to his family and friends…
