so stoked to teach another person how to surf for the very first time! Sakamoto-san is a very energetic young woman that is full of energy. she’s not afraid of anything so it was pretty fun watching her so excited by the ocean swells. even paddling out was fun for her.
and once she stood up, it was so natural. riding the longest waves all morning long.
hooked on surfing for sure. she was already asking me where she can surf in Japan. haha
after a few waves in the inside, i asked Sakamoto-san if she wanted to try to ride a big set on the outside. of course, she said “yes!” so we went to the outside and rode all big sets the rest of the morning. look at her go! i can’t believe it’s her very first time surfing!
and yes, a smile like this comes after a wonderful ride.

then took a cruise on Mayuki. couldn’t help but enjoy the beautiful ocean!
this girl likes “freedom!” i’m sure she’ll be surfing for many years to come. you can see and feel the energy!
then the boys arrived to Hawaii this morning, and we went surfing this afternoon. so stoked to see Nishio-san and Yoshida-san back in Hawaii! Day 1 of 3 days of Boot Camp!
