went up a day early to Molokai. parked the boat and went to experience a typical Saturday afternoon in the little town.
fresh homemade pies made with lots of Aloha.
Tony hasn’t paddle boarded since last years race. but ultimate watermen like him don’t have to practice. he just picks up a paddle and goes. see all those muscles? that’s all from foiling! haha.
Alika don’t need practice too. it’s amazing how the ocean is in their blood.
no, there was no doggie division. and it’s amazing this doggie didn’t fall off the boat in the rough seas.
the prone paddlers started first. then the SUP’s came flying by about an hour later.
then out of the blues, this foiler came out of nowhere and flew right past us! that’s when i got really excited!
then he kept going and going. this guy was the first to pass us and Isaiah and i were wondering where Kai Lenny was? i’ll tell you later…
Mao-san was going side by side with this paddler and never giving in. yeah, i would have been paddling my hardest too if i where him. haha.
the hardest part was the last 5 miles. seen Mao-san and another male paddler racing to the finish line. Mao-san got there first and gained this mans respect. she gained all of our respect too. still so amazed…
