2 days ago, i was diving in the murky water outside barbers point. the water has been really dirty because of the last huge swell that stirred up the ocean. i could barely see but i dove anyway. it was weird because there were so many fish that day. and when i anchored my boat in 15′ deep water for a dive, 20 or so dolphins came to my boat and were swimming around. turtles were everywhere, fish were everywhere, and i was stoked to see nature at it’s best. anyway, not too many people dive barbers point because of the huge tiger sharks out there. yes, we’ve seen a lot. some aggressive, some not. and when the water is dirty, you can just feel their presence.
then i watch the news last night and they reported a surfer getting he board bit by a tiger shark 2 days ago? what? yeah, the same exact beach where i was diving all day, and that very same time, a guy on his SUP got attacked by a shark. i got a little chicken skin watching that. it’s not the first shark attack out there and not the last. dive safe and watch out for those tiger sharks!!!
