It was a really amazing surf trip for Nakahodo-san.  He got really lucky because the waves were good everyday he was here.  We surfed together 15 sessions and surfed 11 different surf points all around the island.  Each session was special but this one was probably the one he will never forget.  Surfing Waimea Bay was on his bucket list but I wasn’t going to take him there until he was ready.  This time, he was ready!

Nakahodo Would Go!

I turned on Netflix and played this random Japanese drama.  Once I saw scenes in Niseko, Otaru, and Hawaii, I was hooked!  This was on my top playlist while in the sauna all week.  I just finished it and it was a very beautiful love story.

Sayonara no Suzuki or Beyond Goodbye.  I learned some new Japanese words and also learned about life, love, and death.  Very sad, yet very beautiful…

Postcard days…

North shore head high and coming up.

Trade winds at 15mph.

After all the excitement of getting myself a new custom speargun, it finally came!  It came from Benji’s friend in South Africa and Benji was nice enough to put it together for me.  Thank you!

And thank you Benji for the fresh fish filets.  

I immediately fried one up and it was delicious!  

Then I cut up more filets for my Mom.  

Simply salt/pepper/garlic/butter and pan fry it.  Make sure you don’t overcook it.

Top it off with tartar sauce and enjoy the fresh and happy meal!  

Now for the poke bowl.  Fresh fish/salt/sweet onion/green onion/seaweed/sesame oil/shoyu.  Mix it up gently and you have the best poke on the island.

A fresh poke bowl in Hawaii costs around $18 now.  So a fresher homemade poke bowl that was free tastes a 100% better!

My gun is set up and I’m really excited to test it out.  It’s my turn to catch fresh fish.  Once the waves go flat, I’m going diving!
