It was Saints 1st Birthday so we all went into the mountains to celebrate it!  This playground is old and has never been upgraded, BUT, I personally think this is one of the best playgrounds in Hawaii.  Nobody is ever here, it’s naturally green from the rain water, and it’s on top of a high mountain so the air is super fresh.  I use to take the kids here a lot and they always loved it!

It’s always fun getting the family and kids together.  Our family is pretty huge and we all love each other very much.  No dramas and only joy! 

Happy 1st Birthday Saint!  I can’t wait to take you surfing!  

Guess where Honouliwai was most of the time?  Yes, he was sneaking up to the desert table and eating all the candy.  Haha.

Super Low Tide…

Good morning 4am.
North shore 4-8′ and perfect.
Ala Moana waist high and clean.
Diamond Head waist to chest high and clean.
Light winds so perfect morning conditions.
Sunny and cool morning becoming warm this afternoon.
Going to the sea.

Day 2 of 2023 and this is looking like my routine.  Just give me any ocean and I’ll be there in the early morning.  Looking and loving the Honolulu city lights.

And my 2 students getting better and better.

Hiro-san only surfs in Hawaii which is pretty cool.  I don’t know how he can paddle so well after months out of the water.  If I don’t surf for a week, my arms get tired really fast.

When the morning sun shines over Diamond Head, the day becomes another kind of beautiful.

Round 2 this afternoon at Ala Moana was good!  look how beautiful this wave is!  When you have a magic board, anything is possible.

And when you have a magic board, your surfing level will rise.  And when it rises, everything else in life rises too.  It’s the best feeling in the world!

Well, I got 4 sessions in so far in 2023 and we’re only on day 2 of the year?  Sweet!!!
