June 18, 2023 Hawaii Surf Report

Ultra low tides continues…

Good morning 3am.
Ala Moana waist high and good.
Diamond Head chest high and good.
Light trade winds at 15mph.
Sunny and warm.
Going to surf.
Happy Father’s Day!

Surf Report Mistake

If you believed the surf report, you would have expected smaller and slower conditions than yesterday on this dropping swell.  Yesterday was waist high so today supposed to be knee high.

WRONG!  Thank goodness, the surf report was wrong.  The waves were double the size and double the consistency from yesterday.  And also much cleaner.

This wasn’t a set, but it was very clean and this girls best wave of the morning.  Thank goodness I was following close behind.

Yes, I think she needs a smaller surfboard now.  Then it’s going to get a lot more exciting!

Good job girl.  Surfing better and better each day.  Super proud of you!

Afternoons Delight

It’s been super good in the afternoons.  The sun is out, the water is warm, the tide is high, and the winds are offshore.  Perfect time for a surf session.

Yoshida-san caught some good long rides.  Very calm and cool.

Rico-san was smiling from the start to finish.  She is such a happy girl!

She stood up on her very first wave.  Smiling all the way!

Time went by so fast because we were having so much fun.  Last wave of the day.

Seeing the smiles is the best part of being a coach.  Life doesn’t get much better than this…
