Double Overhead Guaranteed

Yesterday once more:  Keone on the smooth bottom turn.

Looking very easy for him.

Mighty Mouse paddled into these big waves by herself.  Super happy to see that.

Rocky caught so many good waves like this.  100% confident.

The biggest day in years and the girls surfed better than ever.

Double overhead?  Yes it was!

Yesterday once more:  Code Red at Bowls.  Barrels outside of red buoy.

Good morning 3:15am.

Diamond Head 6′ and wild.
Light winds so perfect morning conditions.
Sunny and warm.
Going to the sea.
Have a wonderful day!

Full Moon Code RED!

Round 1:  We got to the beach watching the full moon set and the waves starting to grow.  I saw a double overhead set and told the girls to wax up their biggest surfboards.

Today was a day to search for the biggest waves on the South Shore.  I knew it was going to be magical because we’ve done this before.  I could tell the girls were nervous because they were paddling out very slowly.

But once we got out, the girls were pretty calm.  The ocean was big and there was a lot of water moving.  Huge swells and strong currents.  Rocky caught a huge set and looked very confident.  Look how beautiful this wave is and look how committed Rocky is!

Mighty Mouse was charging too.  I was riding along her on this one cheering her on.  It was a big beautiful ride.  We had such a wonderful session of big wave surfing.  The cool thing is everything seemed very easy because the girls were prepared for this day.  Now they want it bigger!

Today was a day when no commercial boats should have been out in the ocean.  Profit over safety?  People can die on days like this so why risk taking out tourists that can barely swim out on a crazy days like today?  There was a big accident on the reef at Kewalo’s and luckily nobody died.  You probably heard about it already.

The last swell had over 200 rescues.  This one will probably end up having much more.

This is my first lemon of my tree.  It smells so sweet and I can’t wait to make lemonade out of it.
