Yesterday’s wave of the day…

Good morning 4:30am.
Ala Moana waist to chest high and good.

Trade winds at 25mph.
Sunny with rainbows.
Going to surf.
Have a wonderful day!

Rainbow Princess Birthday

i left a little late today so instead of watching the rainbow from the ocean, i watched it from the car.  same kind of happiness…

i had 6 of us on Mayuki and as soon as i anchored the boat, everyday was full speed to the surf!

when i was driving back, i saw Kelia surfing at Bowls.  i’m always happy when i see her…

then i headed up to a special birthday party for a little princess.

Happy 4th Birthday Kaira Moniz!  uncle loves you!!!

Until we meet again

i filled out this card and went to one of my good friends funeral.  sitting at the chapel listening to one of his friends telling stories about him was very emotional.  our friend was one of our best buddies, a husband, a father, and has passed away way too soon.  i met him in college, traveled with him to Japan, spent countless nights in bars, clubs, and football games.  he was the light of the party and would always make us laugh.  i still can’t believe he’s not here anymore…

a bunch of my good buddies got together for a drink after the funeral.  we celebrated his life how he would have wanted us to.  drank beers, took tequila shots, told jokes, teased each other, and laughed out loud.  we went to the very same bar where we would always get asked to leave because we made too much noise.  we stayed until closing and luckily we didn’t get kicked out this time.  we had fun, but we really missed his presence.   at the end of the night, reality sets in.  this guy wasn’t supposed to die yet.  it makes you realize how life can get cut so short unexpectedly.  i’m very sad, but at the same time, i’m happy to have met such a wonderful person who made my life so much more better.  i think about the good times we had and all i can do is laugh.  i will surely miss you brother.   until we meet again.  cheers…
