Tourist News

last month, there were 27,528 arrivals to Hawaii.  that’s almost up to pre-pandemic levels.  the crazy thing is most of the world is still closed!  what’s going to happen when the world opens up again???

look at Waikiki Beach today.  they better cancel the pandemic because there’s no pandemic in Hawaii anymore.

i was watching the news with mixed feelings.  i’m happy the tourists are back, but i hope they can respect the local people that are still serious about this pandemic.

the whole island is packed.  this is Koko Head trail.  and i heard from a friend that Haleiwa was super crowded and the traffic was crazy.  welcome back everybody!

How to Cutback

want to know how to do a cutback?  foiling is like slow motion surfing so you can see it clearly.  first you start off with your left hand, turn it high and out where you want to start your cutback, then your shoulder will automatically follow.  make sure you’re looking at the tip of your left hand because where you look, you will go.  never look down!  and throughout the whole cutback, keep your knees bent.

now open your left arm even more, look towards it, and keep your knees nice and bent like this.  make sure you’re looking forward and not down.

if you do those basic things, your cutback will be done with flow.  then after you complete one like this, you will be able to do it over and over for the rest of your life.  but until you understand the importance of arms, shoulders, eyes, and knees, you will keep fighting your turns forever.  so go wax up your board and give it a try!
