i was down at Waikiki yesterday and couldn’t believe how many people were at the beach!  it looked like it was a normal peak summer day.

what pandemic right?  no social distancing, no masks, and it really looked like things are normal in this world.  but no, it’s still not…

Australia’s government said they will stay closed till at least the middle of 2022.  Japan will probably be the same.  but here in Hawaii, you’re always welcome to come and play.  but i’m not sure how i feel about that…

some of my favorite restaurants are finally opening up.  it’s been a long year since i ate this bowl of noodle soup.  i love it!

i felt like short boarding this morning so i paddled out to Bowls.  it was super fun and good to see the boys ripping.  Lance going off the lip!

i forgot it was a weekend today.  the crowd got thick and it was time to hassle for waves.  it’s been a while since i had to hassle for waves but it was pretty fun.  i actually miss this…

then the drop-in festival started.  every time i was paddling out, i saw surfers dropping in on each other on almost every wave.  it was pretty funny…

i’m surprised there wasn’t a fight out there today.  you almost have to be an asshole go get a wave to yourself.  so yeah, i must be an asshole.  haha.
