Diamond Head chest high and bumpy.

Trade winds at 15mph.

Sun, showers, and rainbows.

Going surfing and surfing.

thank you Maruyama-san for the snacks.  chazuke for dinner is next for me! i saw a girl hopping on one foot.  i say to her “stepped on sea urchin huh?”  she said “how do you know???”  i said, “don’t worry, you’re not the only one.”  gave her some vinegar and told her to soak her foot in there for 40 minutes.  gosh, i should have been a doctor.  haha…from sunrise to sunset, this is my beautiful life… so happy to hear from Asayama-san!  so many people here asking me about him and now i’ll say “Asayama-san is enjoying life surfing, hunting, and eating his catch.”  good life man!  thank you Hiro-san for the snacks from Tokushima!  perfect for lunch…and thank you Karino-san for more snacks.  perfect for snack time!want to congratulate the Yamari Family for their new baby!  omg, so cute!!!thank you Mama and Papa Iwata-san for the message.  i can’t believe you’re almost out of lilikoi butter!  i’m so happy you got to meet Tony and experience the true meaning of “aloha.”  when bad things happen, so do good things.  the coronavirus has kept China on shutdown so it’s given time for Mother Nature to breathe again.  just in a month, all the pollution is gone.  makes you really think why things like this happen right?

back to surfing with Renta-kun.  another day so i made him ride another board.  i’m teaching this kid how to adjust to any type of wave on any type of equipment.

the best surfers in the world can ride anything and make it work.  so if you want to be a best surfer, you better be willing to try anything and everything…

next time we surf, who knows what i’ll take for this kid.  haha…

then went surfing with Hiro-san.  just arrived from Japan and we’re surfing into the sunset.

Hiro-san hasn’t surfed since the last time he came to Hawaii.  but after his first wave, he started where he left off…

backside is getting super good too.  Boot Camp days continue…

omg, the Surf with Aloha event at Kewalo’s was amazing!  they should make this mandatory for every surfer in Hawaii.   then the lineups will be a better place…

since i’m coaching Seira-chan, i thought this would be a great experience for her.  she will learn the history of localism in Hawaii, and most important, she will learn how to surf with aloha.  included were:  free food, free entertainment, free hugs, and free smiles…

for every young surfer, right here at Kewalo’s is you will learn how to respect the elders.  if you don’t, you won’t make it anywhere else in the world…

one of the photos on the wall was this one.  “SAVE THE LAND 4 OUR KEIKI!”  look at Josh, Seth, and Isaiah holding up the sign.  if it wasn’t for demonstrations like this, there would be condos and shopping centers fronting Kewalo’s.  these guys stopped that from happening…

**look at Seth’s surf trunks.  he was the youngest of the boys so he would only get the hand me downs.  so yeah, those oversized trunks came from one of his older brothers.  it was so big that only his feet were sticking out.  haha.
