Zero Gravity Bucket List

As a shark was feeding on fish right in front of us, this surfer passed it and came in with some rubbish.

You don’t want to hit this while you’re surfing.  Your surfboard won’t like it at all.  Anyways, the waves were really good today.  Chest high and very clean.  I keep saying this but it was much better than yesterday.  In fact, it was the best of the week!

I went to check on the Yacht Club early this morning before surf.  The rubbish was still there.  Less than yesterday, but still too much.

This is Duke Kahanamoku’s boat.  As it sat there with all the rubbish around it, I thought to myself how would he feel if he saw Hawaii the way it is today.  I don’t think any of the old school Hawaiians would be happy to see things like this.

As you get older, you get wiser.  You realize that health is wealth.  Coming home after a long day, you want to be comfortable.  I heard about these Zero Gravity sofas so I went to check it out for myself.

With your feet above your heart, it reduces back pain, improves posture, and improves blood flow.  When I sat on this and reclined, I felt like I was floating in space!  Come to find out, these sofas were pioneered by astronauts.  This is now on my bucket list.

The search for clean water and beautiful sunrises…

Good morning 3:50am.
Ala Moana chest high and good.
Diamond Head head high and bumpy.
Stronger trade winds up to 25mph.
Sun, showers, and huge rainbows.
Going to the sea.
Have a wonderful day!

Human Waste and Trash

I went down early this morning to see this with my own eyes.  I couldn’t believe it!  Not just the view, but the smell was disgusting.

I’ve never seen anything like this in my life.  Well, I see this all the time in Indonesia and the Philippines but never here.  I understand the tree branches and things washing down from the mountain, but all the rubbish?  The maintenance guy at the Yacht Club has been working there for 50 years and he said he’s never seen anything close to this.  He was actually super pissed off when I was talking to him this morning.  He said this is unacceptable.  I agree.

With all the homeless living under practically every bridge along the streams, this is their houses, their trash, and their human waste.  All mixed together.  Imagine falling into this water?

Slippers, clothes, microwave ovens, trash bags, beds, furniture, and every kind of trash you can think of.

All these boats won’t be able to go anywhere until this is cleaned up.  Thankfully Mayuki is in a safe place and not affected by any of this.  What’s the solution?  I think the government should pick up all the trash, then push the branches out into the channel and let nature do its thing.  In the meantime, don’t swallow water if you surf at Bowls.  And don’t surf if you have any open wounds.  This is pretty serious.
