Japanese Flat Spell

woke up bright and early so excited to surf this morning! walked to the seawall and guess what?

it was totally flat!!! i forgot i was in Japan! can’t surf here everyday but that’s life and that’s ok. new typhoon heading this way so i better start to make my way back home before i get stuck.

went for my daily breakfast at The Seaside Beach Hotel. i just love this place!

all you can eat buffet so now you know why i gain so much weight when i’m here. this was only my first round!

eating breakfast and watching fighter jet after jet flying by.

reminds me of the movie Top Gun. and reminds me how i tried to enlist myself in the military the next day after i saw that movie. and i bet i wasn’t the only one that did that. haha.

Okinawa Tide Challenge

a lot of people don’t know that you can only surf on high tide in Okinawa. not because it’s shallow, it’s because the reef is sticking up. so that’s only 4 hours a day surfers get to surf. i actually talk to myself when i’m in Okinawa. “come on tide, please come up!” haha..

the low tide is great for scuba diving though. hundreds of divers each day here at Sunabe.

went to eat soba again. then watched the news about the new typhoon heading this way. i think it’s number 26? yes, 26 typhoons in this year only…

another day, another pigs feet soba. gosh, i love this…

and i love this too. awamori sake, vinegar, and chili peppers. it turns your soba into fire! so good!

and ended it off with a big bowl of shave ice. i’m loving every minute here in Okinawa!

Hundred Bottles of JD

i haven’t been to Kimura-san’s house in a year. and his empty bottle collection of Jacksan shows how much i missed out.

also happy to finally pick up my box of goodies sent to me by Maneuverline.

i really needed this dry bag for Mayuki. now i can swim with all my stuff to the beach without anything getting wet. and take it traveling too.

and i finally got the perfect twin plus one Future fin setup. i’ve been using the plastic ones for the past 3 years so i’m looking forward to trying these. i can guarantee 5x more drive for sure!

Carter flew back to Hawaii today and the first thing he did was pick up our new boards! his is blue, mine is red. so stoked!

i actually got a little jealous when i seen this because i know where he is, and i know that the waves are going off…

as for me, i’m sitting in my hotel room waiting for the tide to come up. then look for a wave to foil. thanks Hayato for letting me borrow your foil
