Searching for the perfect foil wave…

boys will be boys. so Hayato loaded up the toys and he, Carter, and i headed out to play.

every single wave that breaks is foilable. and i just picture myself flying over the ocean like a bird.

the last typhoon had its effects on Okinawa too.

lucky find!

nice beaches all over the place.

crystal clear water and blue sky.

and breathtaking views.

Carter’s first time here so everything is new to him. i still can’t forget the first time i came here too. felt the Aloha spirit everywhere.

kind of cool just hanging out with friends having a great time. i’m so happy to be in Okinawa right now!

PIG FEET: KIX TO OKA

on the train heading to the airport at Kansai.

that last big typhoon sent a ship crashing right into the bridge. so they were still repairing it.

it’s crazy how much damage there was!

looked over from the train and could see everything.

yes, this is the only bridge connecting KIX airport to the main island.

and it’s not looking like it will be fixed anytime soon

jumped on a flight headed to OKA which is Okinawa! i haven’t been there in a while so i was actually super excited.

first stop was pigs feet Okinawan soba. it was delicious!!!

then made it right in time for the sunset at a white sandy beach.

it’s amazing how much Okinawa and Hawaii have so much in common.

cool sunset, and cooler clouds.

yes everybody. i wish you were here!!! Mensore!

going to hang out with friends, eat, foil, relax, and laugh a lot. see you guys around…

Sweet Second Home

yes everyone, i would jump on any flight to anywhere in the world to be able to eat food like this. there are certain things in Hawaii we can’t eat, and this fresh sashimi assortment from Wakayama is just one of them…

Americans call it baby sardines. Japanese call it shirasu. the best in the world produced by Yamari.

and a masterpiece from the Master at En…

coming back to Wakayama had been a while. almost a year to be exact. so happy to see my second family so healthy and happy. we talked, we argued, we laughed, and we just did normal things families would do. but in the end, we grow much closer to each other and moments like this makes me realize the importance of life… thank you to the Kimura-san family…

woke up at 4am and watched the sunrise over what’s called “The Land of the Rising Sun.”

ate the sweetest fruits you can ever imagine.

and freshest fish you can ever imagine too.

thank you Kimura-san and Atsuko-san for always keeping me healthy and happy. and thank you also for all the precious advice and support over all these years. i always learn from you guys how important family is. and i’m very thankful for that…
