thank you Akudo-san! perfect for this upcoming winter season in hawaii!

after fishing all day yesterday, i was driving home feeling kind of weird. even though we caught fish, i wasn’t satisfied. i didn’t feel refreshed, i didn’t feel excited, i didn’t have the stoke. i’m guessing because i had absolutely no exercise? and maybe because i didn’t get to go into the ocean? in fact, i came home stinkier than when i left my house. when i free dive, i come home feeling totally refreshed, satisfied, and content. thinking about selling my fishing poles again. haha.

but coming home to Mateus makes me totally satisfied! i bought him some anpanman treats from japan and am giving it to him little by little. that way i can see his smile more and more.

September 15, 2016 Hawaii Surf Report

Dirty water continues…
Good morning 6am.
Storm warning, flood warning, heavy rain warning. Be careful today! Ala Moana chest high. Clean waves, dirty water.
Diamond Head shoulder high and windy.
Trade winds at 25mph.
Rain, storms, flooding, and accidents.
Have a safe day!

No Fishing: Brown Water Advisory!

since the water was going to be dirty again today, thought i’d look for some clean water. 20 miles out to sea, i knew a place. today wasn’t a safe day to go that far out because of the storm, heavy rain, and flooding. so when i left the yacht club, i told the security “hey, if i don’t come in by 4pm, something happened to us.” he looked at me as if i was crazy.
img_3867
another beautiful morning. went out with my friend Ryan and nephew Isaiah.
img_3888
when ever it rains, i can hear the stream flowing near my house. so before i even go to the beach, i already know if the water will be dirty or not. today, i knew for sure because the stream was flowing strong last night!
img_3871
took 1 hour to get out to our spot. let the poles out into the rainbow!
img_3879
soon after, we get out first fish! then another, then another.
img_3891
we got 2 mahimahi’s and one ono. ended up losing 3 fish today but it was ok. enough fish for us so we called it a day.
img_3896
came home and it was time to clean fish!
img_3900
so stoked to be spending time with Isaiah. the coolest kid with the biggest heart.
img_3897
then Ryan cleaned and cut the fish.

one hour later, i was eating carpaccio! it was so good!
