yes, the whole nike shoes totally fell apart! the whole bottom came off. kind of shocking to spend $100 on shoes made with such poor quality. just do it? no, you shouldn’t.

Ala Moana shoulder/head high and perfect.
Diamond Head overhead and good.
Trade winds at 20mph.
Sunny and very warm.
Surfing all day.

Fujiki-san’s been here for the past 10 days and the waves have been super good the whole time. so today, he wanted to do something different, he wanted to go free diving and swim with turtles for the first time. i was stoked because that’s my speciality!

going out to the ocean, i don’t think Fujiki-san knew what in the world he was about to see. neither did i because the ocean has a different face every single day. anyway, we get out to one of my spots and throw the anchor. i give Fujiki-san a brief introduction on free diving. and the water couldn’t have been any cleaner.

then right when he jumps in, it’s a new world for him! turtles everywhere! only us as we enter the Urashima Taro world!

then Fujiki-san started off with a shallow dive, then went deeper and deeper on every try. just a little adjustments and he was doing super good.

then turtle after turtle came to say hello. they were everywhere! check out Fujiki-san getting comfortable in the underwater world. amazing job for his first time. this is deep!

the most beautiful creatures. i can’t believe i use to eat these guys when i was a kid. throughout the years, i learned how to interact with turtles so i can get pretty close, so close i could kiss them.

then i seen a tako on the bottom of the ocean. so i went to grab it, and when i brought it up, the aggressive fish came and tried to attack it! look at them all around Fujiki-san.

i asked Fujiki-san to hold the tako for a little while and i could see the fish coming and trying to attack him.

so i grab the tako and headed back to the boat. look at these fish charging me full speed!

sharks do this too. and i never ever let go of my catch. the reason for that is i don’t want to create a frenzy. that would be worst. so i always protect my dinner.

one of the fish ate a leg. look at him! he wouldn’t let go. haha.

finally got was what left of the tako on the boat, we pulled anchor, and went to look for some waves. Fujiki-san told me “i don’t have to surf, i’m totally satisfied.” i thought that was so funny because i always feel the same after an awesome free dive. total satisfaction!

went to eat a fat healthy mexican burrito. a great way to end the perfect day! then went back for an afternoon session. more photos coming. better sleep early because tomorrow is another full day in the ocean! and the new south swell is here! loving life again!
