OMG, volkswagon is in big trouble!!! they got caught red handed lying to the U.S government! expect huge losses, people getting fired, and endless lawsuits. might be the last of that mega company. and i feel sorry for everybody that owns stocks or a car. either way, the value just got cut in half because of this scandal. pretty sad.

driving through kaimuki yesterday staring at this beautiful rainbow.

sad that another young 19 year old boy got swept into sandy beach and died. he was walking along the shore late yesterday evening. big south swell and strong trade winds? sandy beach should be closed at times like this because it’s way to dangerous. pretty sad.

left my house this morning to another amazing rainbow!

picked up Endo-san and Tamura-san for a full day of surfing and fun! surfed in the morning, then started the circle island tour.

it is their first time to hawaii so diamond head is a must! then the hitachi tree.

then off to the north shore and it couldn’t have been a more perfect day.

then lunch at Romy’s. the wait in line was 20 minutes, and the wait for the food is 45 minutes. it’s always way to long to wait for lunch, but when i comes, it’s all worth it.

i ate the shrimp plate like normal. and like normal, i get a sore stomach when i eat shrimp. yeah, i knew it, but i couldn’t resist it. pretty sore this time. but it’s so good that i’ll probably eat it again. haha.

then back to town in the evening. it was such a beautiful drive that i haven’t done in a very long time.

a picture perfect day! thank you Endo-san and Tamura-san for the wonderful day of surfing and sightseeing! please enjoy the rest of your hawaiian paradise vacation!

Big Bowls and Big Balls!

can you believe this was the peak at bowls yesterday? i swear it was the first time in my life it was this empty. i guess everybody is surfed out. then i see my nephew Isaiah paddle out and he looked puzzled too. i told him “brah, you couldn’t have paddled out at a better time.”

Tanaka-san is from Fukui, Japan. super energetic surfer that kind of reminds me of myself when i was his age. nice wave with no people around.

Ikeda-san is from Kumamoto, Japan. only been surfing for 6 years but surfs really good. another wave with no people around.

Tanaka-san on a right. another wave with no people around.

and Tanaka-san on a life. another wave with no people around.

had some solid 5′ sets. just barely making it under. i actually had to throw my board and dive under a few times.

stoked to see my other nephew Micah paddle out later. such a good kid.

and Isaiah was on fire! just ripping every wave to the fullest.

Isaiah again. good surfer, good kid.

then bowls got crowded so we paddled to another spot. Tanaka-san and Ikeda-san asked me “what is this spot called?” i said “THE BIG BOWL and it only breaks when it’s BIG!” they both looked at me and said “OMG, DANEROUS!” haha. i told them, if i say go, you go. then i said “if you don’t go, you won’t know.”

Ikeda-san charged one and but didn’t make it. after this, he wanted more and more. haha. Tanaka-san rode a couple and was super stoked.

i got a really nice barrel! never made it out, but felt great for a few seconds.

then we went to check out ala moana beach park. gosh, it was so beautiful! i could have sat there all day and watched the waves. i love hawaii!
