pretty cool transportation system here in japan. you can get pretty much anywhere by airplane, train, ferry, bus, or car. everything on time, and everything so clean.
for 2000 yen or $16, you can take a ferry from wakayama to shikoku. a 2 hour ride so a great time to take a nap.
i felt like my body needed some yoga so i put on my yoga music, and did some poses to open up my body. then i took a 1.5 hour nap.
so happy that Saito-san picked me up from tokushima and drove me over to uchizuma. glad to be back to my wonderful place with a more then wonderful view. and the bonus of good waves!
went to check out another spot and nobody was out. and when i see a spot with nobody out, i get motivated to be somebody out. suited up and entered the cold frozen water.
glad to have Dove Wetsuits keeping me warm, and glad to have TSSC Surfboards keeping me riding perfect waves. the water was freezing cold, but it was all worth it. glad to see and surf with all my friends down here in shikoku.
and yes, the sakura in tokyo blossomed earlier than this side. now it is in full bloom and i’m full of happiness. it’s amazing how just looking at the cherry blossoms can make you so happy!
and yes, come down for the 30th TSSC users cup at Ikumi, Shikoku all day today! see you there!
Ferry to Sakura to Surf
Moray Eel, Shark, and Jack
after traveling around the world, i can make a confirmation that japan has the best food and no where even comes close. quality and presentation at it’s best. so walking into En last night made my eyes, stomach, and heart very happy!
in hawaii, nobody eats moray eel. but in japan, people in wakayama eat it. it’s my 2nd time and i really like it. sashimi and in nabe was the best.
this was new to me. shark? i’ve never tried shark before and after eating a piece, i will probably never eat it again. it had a texture and taste that i can’t even explain. Kimura-san loves it, but i’d prefer turtle or whale.
such a super traditional restaurant but something looked different this time.
a shelf with Jack Daniels? haha!
this is my kind of place! some cold draft beer, awesome food, then to end it off with some jacksan on the rocks. a perfect ending.
then we get the daiko home. in japan, it’s illegal to drive after you drink. even a sip, you will get caught. a $10,000 fine and a lot of embarrassment so don’t even try it. i wish we had the daiko service in hawaii. if so, i’d use it all the time.
