Dive, Beer, Dinner, and Friends

had a fun time this afternoon hanging out with my friends Hayato and Naoka. the conditions weren’t the greatest for diving, but we went anyway. caught some fish, had a beer at sunset time, then came home to eat the freshest catch of the day.

Naoka’s been here for the past 3 months. i’ve known him for the past 8-9 years and it’s the happiest i’ve ever seen him. getting the aloha in him. just look at his smile. Naoka goes back to japan tomorrow but you can guarantee he’ll be back soon. remember the aloha, and spread the aloha!

going back to the harbor after surfing and diving, i could understand how Naoka’s feeling. i’m sure it’s pretty dam good.

we came back to my house and i prepared my special dish. it’s fresh steamed kumu that will make your stomach very happy. can you believe these fish were swimming in the ocean just a few hours before? it don’t get any fresher than this.

Hayato, Naoka, and i had a wonderful dinner, talk, laughs, drinks, and this awesome meal we hand picked from the sea. it’s 11:30pm and time for my warm bed. expect epic waves coming in tomorrow afternoon on the north shore. good night everyone!

Another great day!

Dive, friends, cheers, and dinner.

I AM A SHEEP

year-of-sheep
I am a passive onlooker
I let bygones be bygones
Goodness brings me fortune
I believe in the human race
I understand the meaning of giving
My cup is never empty
I am loyal and just and in others I trust
I AM THE SHEEP
ok, i’m born on the year of the sheep and that was the definition of a typical sheep. so let’s break it down:
I am a passive onlooker – yes, i’m a people watcher. i use to sit down on the sidewalk at the shibuya crossing for hours watching all the people pass me by. i sat on corners in third world countries watching how people move, and how people live. yes, i’m a sheep.
I let bygones be bygones- yes, the past is the past. what happened yesterday can be fixed today. i never look back unless it’s positive. shit happens and i just live with it. yes, i’m a sheep.
Goodness brings me fortune- yes, doing good things is the best feeling in the world. and i always believe that if you give from your heart, good things will return later in your life. and i truly believe that goodness brought me fortune whether it’s a form of money, or form of friendship. yes, i’m a sheep.
I believe in the human race- yes, we are all human and all should be treated equal. i know the world isn’t that way, but i do my best to treat each and every one of my family and friends equally because all of them mean the world to me. and for the people i don’t even know, i will treat them equally as well. yes, i’m a sheep.
I understand the meaning of giving- i learned from a few important people in my life the gift of giving. it feels good to receive, but even feels better to give. giving from the heart without expecting anything in return is the true meaning of giving. yes, i’m a sheep.
My cup is never empty- in college, my philosophy teacher always taught me to be optimistic. so instead of my cup is half empty, my cup has always been half full. yes, i’m a sheep.
I am loyal and just and in others I trust- i trust everybody around me. i’ve been ripped off before, i’ve been lied to before, and i’ve been let down many of times. but i still believe in my friends and will be loyal and trust them forever. nobody is perfect in this world and if you can fully understand that, you can forgive. and as far as loyalty, i want to be loyal just like the samurai’s use to practice. yes, i’m a samurai. opps, yes, i’m a sheep.
I AM THE SHEEP
Happy Sheep year to all my Sheep friends! It’s going to be a good one!
