New York's Best Hamburger and Ramen

ok, i spent less than 24 hours in new york. i just came from eating super healthy food in el salvador. so for lunch, i asked a local guy to tell me where the best hamburger restaurant was. he said “five guys.” so i get there and order the most popular hamburger set on the menu. half way through the hamburger, i started feeling sick. my stomach felt like i drank a cup of grease. i ended up throwing the rest of my lunch away. it was pretty bad.

night comes as i get out and take a 30min walk. i heard that this place is the best ramen in new york. wanted something really light for my body so i was thinking “shoyu or shio base ramen.” so i get there, lots of people! lots of people mean good restaurant. l long line and i wait patiently for 1 hour.

i get in and look at the menu. OMG, $15.50 for ramen???? since i was there all the way in new york, i decided to order the most popular item on the menu, the “mega ramen.”

i was getting hungry again. waiting for my ramen watching everybody enjoy theirs. i use to do this all the time in japan so it reminded me of the long drives and long waits just for a bowl of ramen. usually it was worth the time.

i finally get called. i take my seat, i order my ramen, then here it comes!

i take my first taste of the soup and OMG, it was so oily!!! thick oily base with too much garlic and cold hard char siu. i ate it anyway because i was hungry. i paid my $20 for the most expensive bowl of noodles i ever ate.
i’m a full ramen freak so i’ll give you my comment. first, i won’t say the name of this restaurant because i don’t like talking bad about establishments that are doing their best. too much thick oil, cold char siu, and way too much garlic. i was really disappointed when i left there. i went back to my room, curled up like a ball, and that’s when i started my food poisoning outbreak. went to the bathroom 5 times in the night, almost threw up, and i lost 10lbs in new york. a very bad day of bad food into my healthy body. but hey, i always look at the good. all the toxins and poisons came out of my body. a few days after that, i started my very healthy lifestyle again and now i feel great. would i ever go back to new york? my answer is “no.” instead of taking a 12 hour flight there, i’d rather take the 8 hour flight to japan. much better food! and yes, that was my last ramen i will ever eat outside of japan.
