ok, i haven’t been so hooked on a book in my life. all i’ve been thinking about these days are surfing, diving, friends, and “The Little People.” this amazing book 1Q84by Haruki Murakami makes me feel like i’m living in the book. i read a chapter before i sleep and i have the craziest dreams. i’m on chapter 20 and everything is falling into place. the mystery is getting tense, and i want to know what happens! i woke up at 4:30am and read a chapter. haha. maybe my new hobby will be reading books. it’s relaxing, educational, and stimulates my mind. you should read this book now so we can be on the same mind frame. and we will surely have a lot to talk about.
i receive the most awesome presents from japan. here i am in hawaii enjoying the best japan has to offer. i love it! thank you Tanaka-san for the custard pie!
and thank you Hanagata-san for the Sugar Butter snacks. i heard this is a really popular snack in japan now. i’ll try one today.
and thank you Yoshida-san. this will be my lunch today. i love ramen!!!
and thank you Taguchi-san. the Gouter de Roi white chocolate was so good! i ate half the bag already.
small but perfect waves continue this week. 6′ north/west swell this weekend and the pipe masters will probably start on the first day, December 8 sunday. light winds, i have a day off this weekend so i’m either going to surf good waves, dive and get some good fish, or sit under a tree at a park and finish up 1Q84. either way, i’m a happy man!
1Q84 Little People
Fisherman Killed by Shark!
there were 13 shark attacks in hawaii this year, 8 in maui. yesterday a guy was fishing off his kayak, he was hanging one leg off and a shark bit it. he died. omg!
saw a rescue helicopter pull into bowls this morning.
the came in to pick up 2 lifeguards. somebody earlier in the morning thought they seen a dead body in the ocean. turned out to be a piece of wood. thank goodness. false alarm, but a good false alarm.
had a wonderful time with the boys this morning. the waves were good and we caught so many good waves. super stoked to see everybody surfing good and enjoying this beautiful warm day in hawaii. then we went to eat some spicy bbq chicken special at choi’s garden. $9 and awesome! cheers!!!!
once a month, i crave for the spicy bbq chicken. so cheap, so healthy, and so good!
then we went to waiola shave ice. Tanaka-san and Hanagata-san looked like children waiting for their oishi shave ice. haha.
another wonderful day! oh, wait, i forgot i went diving right after with Dr. Brent. time sure goes by fast when you’re having a great time. thank you everybody that made me a happy man today!
