and this is my best shot of the trip. i see Hayato’s daughter Karen paddling out to Maeda so i follow her with my camera. i try to take photos of her but she doesn’t like it. she keeps on looking the other way and telling me to stop. but no, i’m a photographer and my job is to get the photo so i keep trying. she’s mad at me, but i keep trying. finally she starts splashing me with water and that’s when i get this lucky shot. i love it! Karen is such a cutie!

BIGFOOT! Wow! Big!
Good morning 6am.
Small waves today.
Bowls waist high and clean. 12 surfers out already.
Diamond Head shoulder high and side winds.
Trade winds at 15-20mph.
Clear sky. Super BIG Full Moon!
Going diving and surfing.
Have a wonderful day!

Lock your Bike!

the waves were super fun again today. only had a couple of surfers out near us. caught so many good waves and caught so much sunburn! been super hot here and i’m wondering when summer will be over. i haven’t used a blanket at night since june and i wake up pretty sweat and stinky. i miss the cool trade wind nights. going to exercise, get the blood pumping, and go to sleep. have a wonderful night!

when ever i tell my japanese friends to hide their bags, cameras, iphones, and anything valuable in their car, they don’t believe me. there are so many break-ins and if you look in parking lots and see glass on the ground, that’s because somebody broke a car window to steal something. it happens on an average 15 times a day on this beautiful island we call paradise. then when i tell my japanese friends to lock their bicycles, including their tires, they laugh at me. well, look what happens! now i’m laughing! haha…
