good evening. i checked diamond head early this morning and the winds were already blowing from the east. you know what that means? ala moana is offshore. i picked up Mai-chan and took her for her first real surf in hawaii.

Mai-chan lives down my street and came to hawaii to learn english. she stood up on her first wave and surfed so good! this girl has a lot of energy and is very smart. Hey Mai-chan, thanks for a fun morning session. had fun after too touring kaimuki and eating that huge asai bowl. enjoy hawaii and study hard in school.

the Covenant Books and Coffee sandwich/soup/salad shop is my favorite place to go. i’ve been taking my friends there for over 10 years. well, i have bad news. the closed. yeah, i went there today and they were closed, not for just today, forever. OMG!

after 12 years of the best sandwich and soup combo in hawaii, they closed for good. as i read this note on the door, i was in shock. and still am.

can some businessman please approach the owners and invest into their future? we need places like this in hawaii. local food, local owner, and local feeling. i will surely miss this place.
