to my very important M6 team. thank you all for volunteering for M6. the laughs, the tears, the smiles, the emotions will never be forgotten. thank you for staying strong and keeping me strong. there were times when the emotions almost broke us down, but everybody’s strength held us up high. we’ve seen the worst and now we will see the best. none of us could have done these missions alone and with the power of all of us together, nothing can beat this team. i’m proud to know each and every one of you. keep on surfing, keep on helping tohoku, and keep on smiling! mahalo.
**i was going to post a gallery but after i found Matsu’s Blog, i thought i’d let him explain his story of the photos he took. matsu is not only an amazing photographer, matsu is an amazing friend. everybody loves matsu, and everybody respects matsu. i consider matsu one of my best friends and we have a 22 year friendship that can’t be broken. good job dude!

Shinsuke Matsukawa
Born in 1973 in Kamakura, Japan
Graduated from renowned Tokyo College of Photography in 1995 and joined Sekai Bunka Publishing Inc., one of Japan’s largest publishing houses
Specialities include food and beverage, portrait, travel and interior design photography
Works included in major Japanese publications including Katei Gaho, Katei Gaho International Edition, MISS, Men’s EX, Begin, Graceful Wedding, Kimono Salon, The Gold, Agora, Impression Gold, Yoga Journal, DEPARTURES, Continental Airline Inflight Magazine, Delta Airline Inflight Magazine, Japan Airline Inflight Magazine, Singapore Airline Inflight Magazine, amongst others. Also included in a number of International lifestyle publications.
Became freelance in 2005, travelling to Bhutan, Burma, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, Morocco, Spain, Ireland, Sweden, Germany, Namibia and the UK to build a portfolio of portraits and travel works.
Currently based in Thailand, splitting his time between Thailand, Tokyo and various international projects.

1973年 鎌倉出身
東京綜合写真専門学校卒業後、（株）世界文化社写真部入社。
世界文化社在職中は主に、家庭画報、家庭画報 International、Men’s EX、Begin、 Graceful Wedding、きものサロン、 MISSなどの雑誌をはじめ、料理、インテリア、ファッションなどのムックを撮影。
2005年10月 世界文化社退社後フリーランスとなる。
独立後渡英し、ブータン、ラオス、タイ、カンボジア、ミャンマー、モロッコ、スペイン、アイルランド、ドイツ、ナミビア、メキシコ、ジャマイカ、中国、イギリス、インド、ネパール、モルジブ、トルコ、フィジー、タヒチ、他多数、海外取材を中心に活動。
2007年から2010年7月まで香港在住 香港をベースに活動
2010年7月よりバンコクと東京をベースに活動中。
