when i first started surfing, it was kind of unheard of having south swells in the winter season. it’s december and the waves are still good! this past south swell got head high and had a lot of energy. strong and consistent swells making for a lot of great waves. and with the light winds, the conditions have been excellent in the morning. after our awesome sessions, Inaida-san, Yuki-san, and Mehwa and myself stop by waikiki mcdonalds and treat ourselves to soft ice cream cones for $0.99/each. surfing and ice cream match perfectly!
photo 4
and speaking of delicious, check out my lunch today! a secret restaurant i found with the best shrimp and pork sari sari. yeah, the finest filipino soup in town. $9.50 will make any hungry surfer happy!
photo 5
i’m still trying to figure out how they make the soup base. it is so dam good!

remember the saying, “one man’s junk is another man’s treasure.” well, in this case, “one kid’s junk is another kid’s treasure. i had this kangaroo climber on my deck for the past 8 years and was almost going to throw it away. then i remembered about Kouya-kun. i loaded it in the truck, drove to the kids house, and we were both happy. happy plus happy is happier!

enjoy it kid!
