good afternoon, i woke up at 5am, walked out to check the waves and it was small. i watched and watched as the waves got bigger. i grabbed my board and surfed sunabe before the tide got too low. guys were saying it was the best so far this year. the tide is low so be back there at 2pm. i’m hoping it’s going to be like Off The Wall. see you in the water…

surfing in okinawa is a waiting game. you have to wait until the tide starts coming up. and sometimes it feels like it takes forever….

and when the tide comes up, you better know how to get a wave. or you better know the locals…

the sunabe sea wall is the gathering place. people from all over okinawa come here when the waves get good. if your a people watcher like me, this is a great place to people watch…

i had an interview for a FM radio show yesterday over the phone and i couldn’t believe how nervous i was. it’s kind of embarrassing. it was a topic about go-naminori and hawaii. i was so nervous i don’t even remember what i said. haha. i can talk talk and talk if your right in front of me but get really nervous over the phone. after the interview, they asked, me to come to the studio for more taping next time i’m in tokyo. i don’t think i can handle that. i’d be shaking and sweating. i better stick to surfing…

i’ve been getting a lot of comments about my wetsuits recently. i use it for diving a lot and people ask me where and how to get it. well, dove wetsuits is located in hiratsuka, japan. the suits are handmade of the best possible quality material. i go diving with my friends and some of their wetsuits gets bust up after only a few dives. mine lasts for years. i guess you can’t cut corners when it comes to quality….
