i was looking through some photos and video i took in bali. gosh, it seemed like years ago. the highlight of the trip was isaiah and seth winning the grom contest. but the second highlight was surfing a super secret sandbar that not too many knows about. we scored and if you seen the photos, you would trip. here’s a teaser…

if you check the surf reports in bali, it would say “small surf”. but if you know where to look, there is nothing small about the waves. overhead for seth? i think so…

left? right? anyway you feel like going, go. steep drop, fast bottom turn, and your in the barrel racing for the exit. if you make it, great. if you don’t, get back up, paddle back out, and try again….

good evening. went to shoot the groms this morning at kaisers. it was sunny, fun, and perfect for a photo shoot. shooting the groms is super easy because they do all the work. i just shoot…

this is noah mizuno. half japanese/half hawaiian. a good kid with a great future. of all the kids today, i got the best photo of noah doing a sick layback snap on the left. magazine quality….

every time i go shoot seth, i get at least 1 cover shot photo of him. photos like this i throw away. now you see it, tomorrow you won’t….

want power? watch josh moniz. this kid is riding boards i ride already and throwing more spray than me. in his first heat in the rip curl grom contest, i seen him do 2 power turns followed by a 360 air reverse. i think he got a 9.5….

if you were to ask any pro surfer or coach what a perfect bottom turn is, this is it!!! by shun coming to hawaii 2x a year, his surfing is becoming hawaiian style. strong and powerful!!

alyssa wooten was shooting with another photographer at bowls, then paddled over to kaisers to shoot with me. normal surfers won’t do that. but alyssa isn’t a normal surfer. she has dreams and knows what she has to do to get there. good job alyssa. did you see yourself on the news tonight? guy hagi used a photo i took of you. try to catch it on the 10 pm news. good job today!!!

and last, i was coming in and saw something that caught my eye. i would love to try this too!!! gosh, i want to do everything but i don’t have enough time!! and money. haha….
