Nice….

Minami F4 Falcon NEW!!

good morning. 5am and i’m going to surgery dawn patrol!!! the hospitals looking glassy and fun. i’m so happy i can’t wait to get there!!! see you on the operating table…. surgery saiko!!! hey, don’t think i’m crazy, that’s my positive thinking…. have a nice day….

the last time i was in shikoku, i was checking out yassan’s new surfboard. it was a new Glenn Minami F4 Falcon that was designed for japan. it looked so good that i broke into yassan’s van in the middle of the night, took the board, and tried it at kaifu. the board worked so good. 4 fin for bigger waves that makes the board drive, and 3 fin for smaller waves when you want to get into the pocket. both combinations good but i like the 3 fin set up. i asked yassan if i can bring it back to hawaii but he said “Dame”, which means “no”. he told me to order my own. so that’s what i did. i put in my order and can’t wait to get it. it’s EPS so the board is light and fast!!!

glenn’s been shaping for top world surfers since the 1970’s. when i was a kid watching martin potter doing round house cutbacks at backdoor, i use to dream of getting my own custom board. and 30 years later, my dream came true. glenn is a great shaper and i’m stoked to be on his boards. thanks to TSSC and glenn minami….

this is a 5’8 that handles waves from knee high to double overhead. i tried it in everything and it worked so good. i was bummed when i had to give it back to yassan. but now i’m getting my own. so if you want to try it, my answer is the same as yasan’s, “Dame, order your own”….. haha…

Ramen Fans….

good evening. here’s the answer to all the calls and emails about my eye. YES, IT HURTS!! my doctor cut out a big piece, flipped my eye around, cut another piece out and pasted it. or should i say, stitched it back in. so my eye is blood shot red, and every time i blink, i can feel the stitches rubbing my eye. i’m on pain medication for a week. it’s called vicadin and i’m too scared to take one. the last time i took pain medication was in tonga 15 years ago and i thought my body was going to overheat and blow up. so i’m not going to touch it and just bear the pain. pain medication is an addicting drug and i don’t want that kind of chemicals in my body. so yes, my eye hurts. it’s blood shot red and if i posted a photo if it right now, you would throw up. i’ve dealt with worst pain and i’m kind of getting use feeling pain. what hurts more is that i can’t go in the water for a long time. that’s killing me. so yes, my eye is sore, my hand is sore, and my mind is sore. everything is sore. woooooww… STOP!! was i just complaining? sorry guys. i just had to let it out. and the reason i’m staying home all day for the past 3 days is because i can’t drive. oh, i did go to sports authority to look for swimming goggles. i can’t go in the water because my eye can’t get wet right? but what if it doesn’t get wet? haha.. don’t try it kirby. gosh!! now i’m starting to talk to myself. haha….
well, gotta get to sleep because my hand surgery is coming up tomorrow morning at 5:30am. can’t wait… not….

wanted to say thanks to all you ramen fans out there. i got 3 people guessing right. yeah, this ramen place is on R135 right after you pass atami going to shimoda. it’s on the main road on the right and is hard to miss. it was pretty dam good and i wish we had one of these in hawaii. if we did, the line would be out the door all day and all night long!!! somebody please open a good traditional japanese ramen shop in hawaii!! i will work there part-time!!!

the tonkotsu flavor with cabbage was pretty good. and the charsiu? oh my gosh, melts in the mouth….

this place was rated #1 by yahoo japan as the best ramen in shizuoka…. no wonder there was a line out the door….

how about mexican in japan? i bet nobody knows where this is. this was one of the best mexican dishes i’ve ever tasted. even better than the real ones i ate in mexico….
