good morning. i got home late last night from a wonderful 24 hour trip to chiba. naoka and i got there around midnight and jasmine and hide-san were waiting for us with beer, wine, and jacksan. slept at 2:30am, got up at 6:30am, and surfed, played, and surfed…. wanted to thank jasmine and hide-san for always being so kind…
we picked up hayato, and met up with yuko and yoko. surfed torami 2x. the waves were going off!!! head high and super long rights. off shore winds, sunny skies, and even some barrels….. i took some photos and wait till you see them. sick!!!
then we all went to sea song restaurant to eat a pretty dam good lunch. i had the avocado/chicken on rice with baked scallop. it was so good. and even better because i was eating with wonderful people. yuko shimijiri, yoko furuichi, hayato maki, and naoka…. thanks guys for a wonderful time in chiba… and driving back to shonan, we stopped by a hormone yakiniku place. oh my gosh. it was so good…. what a great life!!!
and wanted to thank hayato’s family for the wonderful breakfast. no, we didn’t eat these chickens, we ate their eggs over hot rice, with natto and yamari shirasu on the side. what a great way to start off the day…
24 Hour Road Trip…
hormone time

Rainy Season?
konnichi wa. i took this photo near satosh’s shop “On The Beach” yesterday morning in miyazaki. the waves were chest high and it was looking like a nice sunny day. too bad i had to catch a flight back to tokyo… and when i got there, it was raining and cloudy…. ahh….
it’s rainy season in japan now. well, at least it supposed to be. for the last 17 rainy seasons, i stayed away from japan in june because i hate rain. but being that i was on transit back from indonesia this time, i came here and expected the worst. but i was wrong…. the weather was pretty nice in miyazaki for the 3 days i was there. and yesterday was blue skies all around. i might be spending more time in japan during rainy season from now on….
when i was at miyazaki airport waiting for my flight, there was a line of people waiting in front of here. so the curious guy i am, i went to investigate. i asked a lady what everybody was waiting for and she told me this special carmel from hokkaido. it was a special flavor this time; mango…. i stood in line, bought 2 at 900 yen or $9/each. kind of expensive…
then when i ate one, i found out why people would stand in line to buy this. gosh, it was sooooo good…… mango carmel candy…. can’t wait to buy more….
