僕はしばらくウルア(GT)の住み家を見に行ってなかったから、どうなっているかチェックした方がいいと思った。それでスピアガンと買ったばかりのシャフトを理由があって持って行ったんだ。その理由は、大きな魚を撃ってシャフトを曲げたくなかったからだよ。ただ僕は、ウルアが戻ってきているかどうか彼らの巣を見たいだけだった。上を泳いでいる時に3匹の大きなウルアが見えた。そんな大きいのを撃つ訳がなかった。僕は巣のそばまで行って、3匹のデカいウルアが行ったりきたり泳いでいるのを見ていたら、後ろに小さめのを見付けた。ああ、ビデオカメラを持ってくれば良かった！そうしたら、その小さいやつが挨拶しに出て来た。僕は頭を狙いガンを構えながら、心の中で、ここで撃ったら捕まえられるだろうなと考えていた。しかも、このサイズならシャフトは曲がらないだろうと。2秒後、お望みの通り、ベストショットした。撃って死んだと思ったのに、息を吹き返し、僕をだまして穴に出入りした。僕はすぐ目の前でシャフトが曲がるのを見たんだ。そして水の中だったけど“OH MY GOSH!”って叫んでたよ。その魚と格闘して海面に上がり、ボートに投げ入れ、僕はムカついてた。なんで？ シャフトが曲がるって分かってたら、こいつの3倍くらいの大きさのウルアを撃ってたよ。結局、僕は新しいシャフトに60ドル払ったんだ。だから、毎日ウルアをひとくち食べるごとにその事をいちいち確認してる。

these 2 kids (10 and 11 years old) from fukushima wake up early every
morning and stand in front of their house before school to thank all the
military, police, firemen, and volunteers for their efforts in
fukushima. otsukaresama deshita means “thank you for your hard work.”
they wave, yell “otsukaresama deshita” and hold “thank you always”
signs. they said that they are going to continue to do it everyday
until fukushima is back to normal. watching this makes me want to do
more and more. amazing japanese kids!
