Goodnight Ala Moana Shopping Center?

I had to go to the Ala Moana Shopping center twice this past week.  As I was walking around, I couldn’t believe how empty it was.  Where is everyone?  I remember this place being packed everyday with shoppers.

I use to see lines of Japanese tourists at the Louis Vuitton store.  I thought it was closed.  But it wasn’t.

There were a total of 2 people in the entire store, and they were mannequins.  How can a luxury store survive like this?  I’m not sure why nobody’s buying any luxury items anymore but I’m guessing it’s the tariffs?

Then I took a peek into the usually busy Rolex shop.  And guess what?  Nobody was in there!

The same goes for Cartier, nobody.  Then I went to Wallmart after this and there were thousands of customers with full carts.  I’d never thought I’d experience something like this in my life.  It’s pretty crazy, and at the same time, very scary…

Honolulu City Lights:  A night out in Waikiki…

Good morning 5am.
Ala Moana knee high and clean.
Diamond Head waist to chest high and fun.
Trade winds at 20mph.
Sunny and warm.
Going to the sea.
Have a wonderful day!

Keiki Hawai’i Pono’i

The ocean was very calm this morning.  Waist high sets and perfect conditions.  Not too many people either.

I forgot how fun foiling was!  It’s been a very long time so my first wave was a little nerve-racking.  But once I got on flight, it felt familiar.  A waist high wave like this feels like an overhead set.  Flying fast, holding on, and trying to stay calm.

I pumped into 10 waves and my session was over in 20 minutes.  The best workout, the best feeling, and the best sport I’ve ever learned.  I’ll be foiling a lot more from now.

My grand-nephew was graduating from an all Hawaiian pre-school so they sang and spoke the native Hawaiian language.  I had chicken skin listening to that.  Then they sang Hawai’l Pono’i.  OMG, that was amazing!

Congratulations Keahi on your first graduation and many more to come.  Uncle loves you!
