Go 2025 Cobra’s!

Today was a big day for Mateus.  He graduated from Elementary school so today was his last day.  None of us were going to miss this special moment.

It’s been so fun watching this kid grow and grow throughout all the years.

It must feel pretty good to receive a graduation certificate.

I’m so proud of you Mateus!

I think we had the biggest family to show up.  All the uncles, aunties, cousins, kids, and more.

We are all so proud of you Mateus!

All the kids, cousins, and future graduates.  Wait, why is Seth Moniz in there?  Haha.

Then came straight home and worked with my brother on our special project.

Painting is a very hard and dirty job.  Painters charge thousands of dollars for a job like this so we ended up doing it ourselves.  I came home with white hair and white paint all over my body.  But the results look amazing!

JPO: Japanese Police Officer

Bowls was tiny this morning so we decided to go somewhere challenging.  Back to the secret spot.  Chest high and wild!

Today was all about connecting with the ocean.  This is one of the hardest places to surf on the island so if you can catch a wave here, you can catch a wave anywhere.  We ended up getting some really fun waves.

Then went to buys snacks for Mateus’s graduation.

I’ve been seeing more and more Japanese snacks on the island.  Kind of expensive though.

I swear I saw these in a 100 yen shop in Japan.  Well, that’s 4x more expensive here in Hawaii.

Leaving the store, I saw somebody’s shopping cart hit this car.  Of course the person pushing the cart was nowhere to be seen.

Then went to Mateus’s elementary school.  They were honoring the JPO’s today so I went to watch Mateus receive his reward.

JPO stands for Junior Police Officer.  It’s a program in elementary school where you volunteer to make sure all the kids are safe coming and going to school.  You stand on the road directing traffic so it’s pretty cool.   When I was in elementary school, being a JPO wasn’t so cool.  All the kids use to call it “Japanese Police Officers.”  It’s so crazy how racist kids were back in the 70’s.  Anyway, congratulations Mateus for getting an award for being an outstanding JPO!
