Rubbish sent from Korea??? NSA in Niijima…

good morning. 7:30am here in japan. small waves today and nothing spectacular in the forecast. got an email from a long time friend in niijima. hiroaki tomita from minshiku yojibay said the waves are flat there now. they are trying to run the NSA ALL JAPAN AMATUER contest but the waves are flat so they had to head up the beach to secrets. what a bummer. i remember surfing JPSA’s up there in knee high waves. it’s not too fun. but at least there is an awesome onsen overlooking the beach. i remember climbing down the rocks, picking some opihi’s, and drinking a beer while soaking in the hot spa. gosh, those were the days. it’s been a while since i’ve been to niijima and i really miss there a lot. the people are so nice and when the waves are good, it’s good…. anyway, have a nice day and to all my friends surfing the contest up there, ganbatte ne….

this was the beach last wednesday in kyoto. i don’t know any of the points names or anything so i don’t even know where i surfed. who cares because the waves were super fun….

some of the beaches on the japan sea are full of rubbish. my friend told me that all the rubbish comes from korea because it’s so close. this was a little bay near tango where there were piles of rubbish on the beach. it’s pretty sad for me to see things like this. i was looking at some of the things and i saw japanese fishing nets and japanese drink bottles so everything can’t be coming from korea. come on guys, no excuses, let’s pick up our rubbish and keep our precious ocean clean….

i went for a 30 min dive to check it out. there were some waves so the water was dirty and rough….

these things climbed into my cooler. what are they???[:????????$B!r(B:]

Solid Typhoon Shots from Okinawa, Japan…..

good evening. just got a bunch of galleries from bruddah josh down in okinawa. i was checking them out and oh my gosh. sick…. jamie o’brian was down there a few days ago boosting some huge airs…. the galleries will be up soon so check back on GO-NAMINORI.COM….

you know something, okinawa has some of the most beautiful girls in the world. some pure japanese but looked mixed, and some mixed that look pure japanese. and most people speak english there. i use to go there all the time but haven’t in a while. i can’t wait because i’m going there this year for sure. once or twice, or three times, lady….

this is jamie busting out a bruce irons air. just imagine the people in okinawa watching this from the seawall. the must have been freaking out…. thanks josh…

just had to throw this in. this is japan on august 26th, 2003. how big is this wave???? big!!! i got the video clip of this wave that glen matsumoto gave to me a long time ago. believe it or not, i’m in that barrel trying to find a way out. my biggest barrel ever in japan. and that was 14 years ago….
**next week looking like a small east swell for japan. you know what that means….. i’m going back up north. see ya…

kalani robb on fire…..

good morning. still hanging out here in japan. surfed kyoto yesterday. it was flat in the morning and came up throughout the day. it was chest high in the evening with good conditions. there was hardly anybody out because of the lightning. guys were coming in and telling me it’s dangerous. yes it is but i wanted to get in the water. stoked i didn’t get striked by lightning. it’s a slim chance but you never know. so many surfers in japan die by lightning. unheard of in hawaii. anyway, i’m going to visit some friends and chill out for the next few days. have a nice day….

when ever i see fireworks in 7/11, i always think about something that happened in the past. it was in 1992 when i was staying with kalani robb in the grand hotel in ichinomiya, chiba. he was 13 years old back then and full of energy. we walked into 7/11 one evening to get something to eat and kalani seen the fireworks for sale. these are illegal in hawaii so he couldn’t believe that they sold it right in the store. he loaded up his basket and we headed back to our hotel. when we got back, he asked me for a lighter and i told him that i didn’t have one. 10 minutes later, i was on the 12th floor balcony drinking a beer and i heard kalani yelling “watch out”…. i looked in the room and seen him with a rocket that was lit and running toward me. that dam kid lit it on the stove in the kitchen and shot it off our balcony. he ended up lighting all his fireworks that way. i will never forget that. classic….
*and what’s more funny is how my nephews would act if they could buy fireworks in 7/11. there would be a fireworks war for sure…
