Eye to Avocado

When you see a photographer with a fisheye lens, the key for a good photo is to get as close as possible to him.  I just did an off the lip and when I came down, I came within an inch of Neal.  We locked eyes and thankfully didn’t crash into each other.  That was a close call.

I’m so thankful for Neal to capture the girls precious moments at Bowls.  I always tell him thank you and that the girls are going to be stoked.  And they always are.

Look at all those avocados and tangerines!

I grew up in this house where my niece is living now.  We had a big avocado tree in the back yard that produced the creamiest avocados you can imagine.  It’s the season now so time to harvest.

Fresh fruit for the week and I’ll be back next week for more.  Thank you!

June 29, 2024 Hawaii Surf Report

Seira-chan@Bowls.  Thank you Neal Miyake!

Good morning 3:15am.
Ala Moana chest high and good.
Diamond Head shoulder high and bumpy.
Trade winds at 20mph.
Sunny and warm.
Going to surf.
Have a wonderful day!

Surf and Fruit Basket

The waves finally came up again.  Chest high sets and perfect!

So stoked to surf with Udagawa-san.  He’s been surfing for 30 years so we had a lot to talk about.  Super cool guy who knows a lot about Japanese surfing culture and mannerism.

Nice ride and nice man!

Look how beautiful it looks duck diving a wave.

Lance Hookano is more Hawaiian than he looks.  A big guy with a bigger heart.

My dream was always to connect Hawaii to Japan.  The 3 of us combined have over 140 years of surfing experience so that’s a lot of connection.

There are turtles everywhere.  I’ve been seeing over 5 a day, sometimes more.

After surf, I went to my nieces house to pick fresh fruits.  Tangerines and avocados.  Smells so sweet!
