Round 2: Marine Maintenance Work

Continued from yesterday:  Round 1 was surfing, round 2 was working.

Round 2:  I spent the rest of the day working hard on Mayuki.  Doing must needed maintenance to keep her running smooth.  I scrubbed the bottom, cleaned the fuel filters, adjusted the steering, and rewired the bilge pumps.  As I was test riding her, a pod of 50 dolphins came right up to the boat and swam on the side for 15 minutes.  It was the longest a pod of dolphins hung around like that.  Pretty lucky day!

When I scrub the bottom of the boat, all the algae the comes off attracts fish.  So after I’m done, I grab my spear and catch the fish.  This takes me about 30 minutes of hunting.  This is the best pan fried fish in Hawaii!

Transit Surf and Dolphin Tour

Round 1:  Surfed again with Noda-san.  Just off a flight and into the water.  The waves were small but not if you’re from Japan.

If you’re from Japan, a day like today would be really good.  Perfect long lefts with rainbows everywhere.

And not to mention, it was very uncrowded.  I was following Noda-san on a few perfect lefts as he was in front ripping it!

Nice turns on the 5’10 Joshua Moniz pro model shaped by Tokoro.

So nice to see the Uncles out early in the morning.  Getting some exercise, a few waves, and a great rest of the day.

I noticed the water at Bowls was very clean.  Probably the cleanest it could ever be.

Malcom was out smiling all morning long.  Such a cool guy that enjoys surfing, and life in general.

We always talk about days like today.  Super mellow and very peaceful.  We love it!

Round 2:  Dolphins, dolphins, and dolphins!
