From coming from freezing cold temperatures wearing 4 layers of clothing, it was very pleasant to jump in the ocean with a pair of surf trunks.

Watching this girl surfing better and better is rewarding.

Of course, I’m riding in back yelling “cutback!!!!”

And the walk back up the mountain will never get easier.  Breath and keep calm…

Good morning 4:40am.
North shore 10-12′ and bumpy.
Ala Moana chest high and cleaning up.
Diamond Head shoulder high and good.
Light winds today so still bumpy but better conditions.
Sunny and warm.
Going to the sea.

I just came back from a 2 day trip that will change my life forever.  A trip of leaning, a trip of an experience, a trip of culture, a trip of rituals, and a trip of mindfulness.  As Buddhists say “You cannot travel the path until you have become the path itself.”

Getting off an airplane and jumping into the ocean is the best.  Once you get into the ocean, you instantly realize how lucky you are.

Thank you to my Boot Camp student for waiting for me.  As much as this trip humbled me, I still won’t change my way of teaching.  So you better be ready because as Buddhists say, “Pain is certain; suffering is optional.”
