Japan Barbecue….

good morning. 6:45am monday morning. dark dark gloomy day again. super cloudy and expecting heavy rain. waves in town about waist high at bowls and bigger at diamond head. oh, i’m looking at the diamond head camera right now and just seen lightning. wow… waves on the north shore is pretty much flat. nothing and nobody out at pipe. it’s probably going to be a small ehukai day. sounds good to me…. i got to get out of here. so many thing to do and so little time….. have a nice day…

bad news guys, more rain on the way…. i haven’t seen a sun mark for over a month now… is this really hawaii? what’s happening to our weather? my friends from okinawa are in heavy jackets telling me that hawaii is much colder than okinawa? huh?? weird weather, strange things going on. but i have a tip for all you staying on the north shore. if you want to see some sun, come to town. yesterday was beautiful and today will probably clear up too….

got barbecue????? it’s going to be a long day and a long nuts night…

for all you surfers and tourist that came to hawaii this past few months, i really feel sorry for you. hawaii is a beautiful sunny warm place. i took this photo of waimea bay on a sunny day a while ago. yeah, like i said, a while ago. hang in there because the sun will come back. not anytime soon, but it will….[:??????:][:??????:][:??????:]

Fresh Raw Pig Liver in Hawaii….

good evening. gosh, another long day here in hawaii. went to surf backdoor this morning. wasn’t the best but pretty good for this year. it felt good to be in the barrel again. i wish i could live in there….

this is what it looked like. not bad yeah? the crowd wasn’t too bad and almost every japanese staying on the north shore was out, including the photographers. it was raining and pretty dark all day out there…. yuck….

hayato always wanted to eat the raw liver from the wild pig. i thought he was joking but i guess not…. i love liver sashimi and eat it all the time in japan. we don’t have it in america and serving it at a restaurant is illegal. so after living here my whole life, today was the first time i ate raw liver in hawaii. so good. oh, check out this photo. looks like hayato holding up an alien baby or something. sick….

tokura-san getting a first taste of liver sashimi, hawaiian style. kubota, matchi, numajiri, and everybody else at the dove house tried it and you know what they said? “better than japan”…. i thought so too….

so it’s super bowl sunday in hawaii. biggest event of the year. went down to kaimana beach because my brother and friends were cooking out. i thought they were listening to the game on the radio but i was wrong….

they had 2 tv’s going on. barbecue going, volleyball nets up, horse shoes, and a soccer set up. now that’s how to enjoy superbowl sunday. and the game was nuts. the underdogs won. i always cheer for the underdogs. congratulations new york giants….

it could be storming on the north shore and the weather in town can be perfection. i thought it was another day. i love town…. have a great evening….

Wild Boar Chanko Nabe ….

good morning. 6;30am. no wind outside my house now so the waves must be good. north shore came up in the 3-4′ range and one guy is out at pipe now so it must b good. they will probably finish up the monster pipe pro so bummer for the contestants because they won’t be able to watch the super bowl. i haven’t payed attention to this years football season so i don’t really care too. i’d rather surf with nobody around…. it’s been a long time but i’m going to the north shore to surf… can’t wait…. have a safe day and see you in the water….

last night was a crazy evening. i had a dinner at 7pm but went up to the mountains at 6:30pm in my jeans, shoes, and everything to meet hayato. we needed pork so we went on a buta hunt. got pork!!! i took this photo of hayato with the pig but glad the photo came out too dark. you will have to check out hayato’s blog for the photos. freaking nuts…. HAYATO MAKI BLOG…. hawaiian style hunting. gosh, yesterday was pretty traumatizing for me. from hunting fish to hunting pigs. just seen too many things die in a day. those are the things normal people don’t see. kind of shocking, but at the same time, makes me appreciate everything i eat. that’s one of the main reasons why i don’t waste food….

i keep on saying that imanas has the best chanko nabe in hawaii. everytime i go there, that’s all i want to eat. next time we can take some wild boar and stick that in the nabe too. must be good yeah? charly always prepares the chanko nabe and he does an awesome job….. thanks charly….

my japanese friends say this nabe is good. that means, it’s good….
**by the way, wanted to thank charly for the awesome nabe and also for the vip passes to lotus night club. sorry couldn’t make it. next time, i’m there…. check out CHARLY’S BLOG BY CLICKING HERE….
