Always searching for the perfect wave…

Good morning 3:45am.
North shore 6-10′ and good.
Ala Moana knee high and clean.
Diamond Head waist high and bumpy.
Trade winds at 15mph.
Sun, clouds, showers, and rainbows.
Going to the sea.
Have a wonderful day!

Shark and Tako Yaki

When I was paddling out to Bowls, I paddled over something weird.  I looked down and saw a silhouette of a shape I’ve seen before.

Yes, it was a shark.  A dead shark.  Poor thing was laying on the bottom and seemed like a bigger shark bit its stomach open.  Sad to see things like this.

It’s pretty fun riding along someone until they fall and their 11’0 surfboard hits you in the ankle.  That hurt!

I was watering my yard and saw a butterfly.  OMG, I haven’t seen a butterfly in such a long time.  When I was young, there were so many.  Now not so many.  So seeing one makes me happy just to see one.

The water finally got a little cooler so tako season is here.  Tako poke and tako yaki sounds really good!

Beyond Goodbye

It was a really amazing surf trip for Nakahodo-san.  He got really lucky because the waves were good everyday he was here.  We surfed together 15 sessions and surfed 11 different surf points all around the island.  Each session was special but this one was probably the one he will never forget.  Surfing Waimea Bay was on his bucket list but I wasn’t going to take him there until he was ready.  This time, he was ready!

Nakahodo Would Go!

I turned on Netflix and played this random Japanese drama.  Once I saw scenes in Niseko, Otaru, and Hawaii, I was hooked!  This was on my top playlist while in the sauna all week.  I just finished it and it was a very beautiful love story.

Sayonara no Suzuki or Beyond Goodbye.  I learned some new Japanese words and also learned about life, love, and death.  Very sad, yet very beautiful…
