good morning. what a 4th of july holiday it was yesterday. it all started in the morning when i left my house to go surf. no cars on the road. this is busy kaimuki with only me. it’s probably the first time i had that street to myself….

then i pull up to diamond where the waves were going off!!! fun surf with the other 60 guys i counted….

then the next thing i remembered was to pick up my boat i left in the water at ala wai yacht club. big dock with little boat.. haha.. but someday it will all change…
*in between, all kinds of cool stuff with cool photos. went to watch my friends band jam in the middle of the ocean at waikiki. shit, maybe 300+ people having a blast. then the fireworks lastnight? oh my gosh. paradise baby… stay tuned for photos…. have a nice day…

hey, i went to the most incredible party last night at the westin moana surfrider hotel right on the beach in waikiki. these two beautiful girls launched a new magazine in hawaii called “Spa Hawaii Magazine”. man, i was impressed on the quality of the magazine and the quality of the party. free food and champagne all night. live music, free hand massages, and even a super killer fashion show. all the people who attended the party were beautiful, except me. haha. but gosh, i haven’t seen so many super models at one place in my life. i got all the information and stuff coming up. i took my camera of course and get this. i didn’t know what the heck i was doing. i hate using flash so i tried all different kinds of photos. and all of them sucked. i guess i’m still an amateur. robbie sent me this photo along with other ones. will be posted with more info on the magazine soon. so stay tuned because this magazine is going to get huge….

good morning and happy independence day. gosh, today is going to be nuts! firework shows all over the island. magic island being the biggest fireworks show with 50,000 people expected. and get this, for the first time ever, hawaii kai is putting on a fireworks show at moanalua bay. it’s cool seeing hawaii kai going big!! i seen some of the boys down at bowls this morning saving parking spaces and grassy areas already. 4th of july is a huge holiday for everybody in hawaii. surf safe, drive safe, and be happy…. by the way, that photo above is in my personal top 5 photos i’ve ever taken. hope to top that one tonight…. can’t wait….

i surfed kewalo’s in the afternoon yesterday. it was pretty dam good. 3′ solid and super ripable. seen nick mita, jason shibata, and keito masaoka ripping it up. today probably the same but good luck finding parking. seen a lot of tents and people camping at all over the place last night….

check out this photo. a perfect unridden wave yesterday at kaisers. on a normal summer day, every single wave has somebody riding on it. even 2 or 3 surfers. but not recently. i’ve seen more empty waves this past week than i’ve seen my whole life. if you want one, better come and get it…. go-naminori…
**by the way, it’s 6am and the waves are once again, going off. shoulder high sets in town with everybody on it already. i’ve never seen ala moana park so crowded in my life. easy 100 guys out already, maybe more. and i ain’t kidding. wow… bowls has 18 guys out. super lite trades right now so epic conditions. i’m going to leave my house and enjoy this beautiful independence day. oh, north shore looks good too. lani’s 3′ and a little bumpy but it’s summer so nobody’s complaining…. have a nice day….
