My Blue Comfort Zone

I couldn’t believe how loud the whales were.  Once you put your head underwater, you could her them crying, singing, and communicating.  It was so loud that you could hear it very clearly in my cameras audio.  It’s super cool!

This view from deep down below is mesmerizing.  I don’t think there is any other way to connect to the ocean like this.  The feeling, the sounds, and the sights are unexplainable.  You’re so relaxed that if you didn’t make it back up, you would be at peace.  Sometimes it gets so comfortable that I almost fall asleep.  I can’t wait to go back to my comfort zone.

I Love Japan…

Good morning 5:45am.
Ala Moana shoulder high and bumpy.
Diamond Head overhead and bumpy.
Strong South winds so junky surf in town.
Rain, clouds, and power outages.
Have a wet wonderful day!

Shark Week

Being in the ocean so much, we all understand that there are sharks.  I’ve seen over a thousand in my lifetime.  But recently, there seem to be more showing up.  Of all the years of diving, this was the first time I saw a big tiger shark swim up to the boat and look at us in the eye.  It was beautiful to see the eye, the stripes, and the body mass of something so wild.  We still went diving, but of course it’s always in the back of your mind that a curious tiger is very near.

Even when we fished with the poles, the sharks kept on biting our lures.  When that happens, the best thing to do is get it close, try to take out the hook out of the mouth, and hope you don’t get bit.

This is so beautiful!

Right when we jumped in and started diving.  Three sharks come right up to check us out.  Imagine looking down only seeing dark blue and all of a sudden 3 big shadows come creeping up from the deep blue.  It happens very often, but you never get use to it.  It will definitely make your heart stop for a second.

On the last dive, a shark attacked a dead fish on Joshua’s float and took it down until it disappeared.  That’s when our diving session came to an end.  It’s been a crazy Shark Week in Hawaii…
