Red Suit: Boot Camp Day 2

Today was bigger and better than yesterday.  AND, nobody out where we were.  Namikoshi-san riding good ones again!

Tokukura-san started surfing when he was 50 years old.  Imagine feeling a new kind of stoke at age 50?  I always tell people it’s never too late to surf, and never too late to enjoy a healthy life like this.

Riding behind and loving the scenery.

We were all surprised how bigger the waves were than yesterday.  Dream session.

Another day and another wave to share.  They were stoked!

Thank you boys for another wonderful day.  Forever young!

Kanreki: A New Beginning

So happy to see Namikoshi-san back in Hawaii.  This time was for a very special occasion.  It’s his 60th birthday today!  In Japanese, it’s called “Kanreki.”  To be reborn again!

Red is the color for “kanreki” and Namikoshi-san looked really good in his brand new red Dove Wetsuit.  This was his first wave as a reborn 60 year old boy!

Tokukura-san was reborn a few years ago so he knows that life only gets better.

It was so cool seeing the 2 boys sharing waves.

The tide was low so balance was everything.

Of all the years we surfed together, Namikoshi-san surfed his best!

Happy birthday again Namikoshi-san!  Glad you and Tokukura-san had a great time.  Keep on Surfing!
