Kanreki: A New Beginning

So happy to see Namikoshi-san back in Hawaii.  This time was for a very special occasion.  It’s his 60th birthday today!  In Japanese, it’s called “Kanreki.”  To be reborn again!

Red is the color for “kanreki” and Namikoshi-san looked really good in his brand new red Dove Wetsuit.  This was his first wave as a reborn 60 year old boy!

Tokukura-san was reborn a few years ago so he knows that life only gets better.

It was so cool seeing the 2 boys sharing waves.

The tide was low so balance was everything.

Of all the years we surfed together, Namikoshi-san surfed his best!

Happy birthday again Namikoshi-san!  Glad you and Tokukura-san had a great time.  Keep on Surfing!

Dream House

Mateus came over to check out the sauna.  As soon as he went in, he did this meditation pose.

This kid is so cute!

We have a brand new member in the family!  I can’t wait to take him diving!

When I was in high school, I use to go and help my Grandpa repair his rental houses.  One thing he taught me was how to level a house.  He actually taught me how in this exact house I live in now.  So yesterday I went under the house, used the jack to lift it, and made it level again.

Then I went in the house and started to install new flooring.  This is my dream house and I ain’t planning to leave it!
